Nuremberg, February 11, 2025 – A study by CheckMyBus, the largest international search engine for bus tickets, analyzed data on ticket prices and sales volume on five main routes during the last few months of the high season in Brazil.
The research revealed significant price variations in bus tickets among the country’s main routes.
The study compared the average prices of bus companies operating 5 highly demanded routes, uncovering a dynamic scenario during the recent holiday period and peak demand.
Price Fluctuations in Bus Tickets from October 2024 to January 2025
Route 1) Salvador – São Paulo
Significant price variations were observed on the Salvador to São Paulo route during the surveyed months. December, for example, recorded a 60% difference between the lowest and highest average prices.
Route 2) São Paulo – Belo Horizonte
The São Paulo to Belo Horizonte route showed the largest difference, with a 65% gap in October among companies during the analyzed months.
Route 3) São Paulo – Rio de Janeiro
The route connecting Brazil’s two largest metropolises also saw fluctuations in average prices of around 50% in recent high-traffic months.
Route 4) Brasília – São Paulo
The highest price fluctuation for the Brasília to São Paulo route was recorded in January, reaching 50%, with the lowest in October.
Route 5) Belo Horizonte – Rio de Janeiro
The largest fluctuation in average prices for the Belo Horizonte to Rio de Janeiro route was found in November, hitting 57%.
